My Journey so far: I would describe my Journey so far as “A Dream Run”. I was started off as a relationship manager in a small location like Agra but was moved to New Delhi in a bigger role eventually. I had some amazing mentors who made this journey possible for me and this is something I truly love about the organization.
My Life @ IDFC: IDFC has been an organization which shows immense confidence in employee’s abilities .There is always encouragement to experiment new things in business and not to think about failures. My biggest motivation in IDFC has been the culture of company.
When I am not working: I am a music lover and find peace in listing to my favorite singers like Jagjit Singh and Kishore Kumar. Reading is a hobby I have recently developed. I like reading about finance and management apart from fiction. However when am not working, what gives me solace is spending time with my son Vedant.
What I do: I work as a relationship manager driving mutual fund sales through our channels partners in Chennai & Pondicherry.
My Journey so far: I have been associated with IDFC since September 2012 and it has been an exciting journey so far. Right from day one I felt at home and it was largely due to excellent colleagues and down to earth managers. Creativity & passion are most valued here. I have never been afraid to try new things during the last 2 years. In the last 2 years there we lot of initiatives taken by me some that worked & some that didn’t however I was always encouraged by seniors to try new things.
My Life @ IDFC: An ideal employer must not only provide you a good professional experience but also provide you with ample opportunities to help you grow your personality. An employer should not only equip you with knowledge required for the current job, but also groom you to take over major roles in the future. I have learnt over the last 2 years that the emphasis here is on professional as well as personality development. I am extremely fortunate that I get best of both the world’s here. If you are passionate, creative, willing to learn & try newer things, then this is the place to be. You will be groomed in the best possible way.

I feel proud being part of a firm that has funded projects which has helped India to grow, electrified villages, ensured education in the remotest places. I have grown and learned a lot in IDFC.
My Life @ IDFC: Best thing about IDFC for me is the learning curve. Site visits have ensured understanding the actual project execution pain (power plants in mountain, education institution in remote area). We can actually feel the joy during completion of the project. Learned one mantra in IDFC that if you zeal to work, there is no dearth of opportunities.
When I am not working: My spare time is dedicated to my 4 year old son Parv. Enjoy playing with him in the garden area and listening to his school stories. I also enjoy playing cricket and do make some time every Saturday to play with friends.

My Life @ IDFC: The thing I like most about IDFC is the fact that my reporting mangers till date have allowed me to go about my work in a manner in which I like. They have encouraged me to pursue tasks which I find interesting and relevant rather than imposing something on me. This empowerment has helped in developing me as a better professional.

Starting in 2010, I have traveled 46 countries with most trips being backpacking ones. The journey has not always been smooth, but it has been an enriching one, filled with lots of learning. My Life @ IDFC: One of the main reasons I enjoy working with IDFC is not only the work-life balance it offers me, but more importantly the freedom to think and apply myself in difficult investor interactions. This freedom has enabled me to grow as an individual. The one thing that brings me to the work-place daily with enthusiasm is the amazing camaraderie I share with my colleagues and peers. When I am not working: I travel, read, try to write, enjoy sitcoms and romantic movies.

My Life @ IDFC: IDFC is a wonderful platform for starting your career with. The outlook to business is credible and innovative. It has helped me to stand apart in the crowd as a relationship manager who has his knowledge quotient updated, is focused and attentive to clients’ needs. I think Mutual-Fund as an industry has a long way to go and IDFC would be one of the pathfinders in times to come. I am happy that I am a part of that run.

In November 2012 I was also given an opportunity to experience channel sales through managing few large private banks.
My Life @ IDFC: My association with IDFC has been a great learning and a very enriching experience. In spite of choppy and extremely volatile markets for the past few years IDFC has stood by its thought process and principles and has proven itself as a market leader. At IDFC I learned that anticipation is the key to success. Sticking to the organization thought process of knowledge based selling and value add to the investors and strongly believing that there is only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything; I have been able to garner decent market as well as mind share with our investors.
When I am not working: When away from work I try to spent maximum time with my family especially my daughter. My other interests include reading, painting and cooking.
What I do: As part of the customer services and operations team at IDFC MF I manage the technological initiatives of the business. This includes managing alternate channels like online transactions, phone transactions and SMS transactions. Besides I also manage the captive call center based in Mumbai. I am also responsible for conceptualizing, initiating and enhancing newer modes of transacting which would make life simple and convenient for investors.
My Journey so far: I have been associated with IDFC since its MF acquisition in 2008 from Standard Chartered. My last assignment with SCMF as the RM – North for customer services made me experience and adapt the so-called cultural and professional diversity of North Indians! With its foray into PMS in 2008, IDFC MF was getting into an unchartered territory and a new line of business. I was excited when I was called to be a part of this business startup. I took over the responsibility of customer services and it was a great learning experience which I managed for a couple of years. During a subsequent re-shuffle I was assigned with the task of assisting in the brand building for the MF including heading the projects team for innovating in the operations sphere and building alternate transaction channels for investors. The team managed to deliver on its objectives by building the SMS based transaction platform for ‘transactions-on-the-go’. For this, first-time in India, pioneering break-through I was awarded the quarterly and annual recognition by IDFC. The same enthusiasm was carried forward when the MF website was revamped in 2011 for which another quarterly recognition was awarded. Also, the website won a Gold Award at the 7th annual W³ Awards, under the General Website Categories - Financial Services, by the International Academy of Visual Arts USA. The journey continues with newer projects getting conceptualized, built and enhanced, with overall objective of building scalability with maximum reliance on technology and advancements in IT sector. The ‘CUSTOMER FIRST’ remains the guiding principle.
My Life @ IDFC: I feel proud to be working with IDFC and relate with pride its contributions in the overall growth story of INDIA. In my professional career this is my longest stint with any corporate which resonates with my levels of satisfaction of working with the most creative and dedicated minds in the industry. At IDFC there is nothing which limits imagination and every sincere initiative is supported, applauded and appropriately rewarded. The informal work atmosphere and approachability to seniors is something which is unique here at IDFC and which motivates people to be vocal about their ideas and concerns. Feel truly blessed to be part of the IDFC Family.
When I am not working: I de-stress by listening to hindi filmy yesteryears music (with the versatile Kishore Kumar being my favourite), reading novels and watching suspense thrillers. Within the confines of my balcony I have built a green haven and spend a few hours gardening over the weekends. I get restless when our group decides to go trekking and grab any opportunity I get to be with nature. Family vacations (and one every year is a rule) are mostly spent travelling within India and abroad, experiencing various cultures and religions and experimenting with different foods.

The role includes origination of deal, due diligence of the deal, sanctioning of the loan in compliance with IDFC’s credit norms and monitoring the asset along with a colleague from the portfolio team.
My Journey so far: I joined IDFC almost 8 years back. I have been a part of Project Finance Group all along. As the role involves moving from one project to the other, got the chance to look at various projects and interact with many promoters. Over these 8 years, saw many economic cycles. Buoyant, “Nothing can go wrong” days of infrastructure sector from 2005-2008, Lehman collapse, liquidity crunch and market meltdown of 2008-2009, “Good days again” of 2010-12 and lastly “Nothing is happening” of 2013-14. Hope that we are again at a time when things turn for the better. These cycles keep you grounded (needed for a lender) and provide new insight to the same problem/issue. One learns that problem can be same but solution will be different depending upon the environment outside.
My Life @ IDFC: If I have to describe IDFC in one word, I will say it is a “Fair” organization. Meritocracy rules. The thing that I liked the most is the freedom given. You will be given responsibility and you will also be given the freedom to work. IDFC’s culture is informal and accommodative. Work-life balance is excellent. I am lucky to have so many friends at work. In IDFC, seniors guide, colleagues co-operate and juniors help. When work is good and people with whom you work are also good who will not like such place? With issuance of banking license to IDFC, it will be a start of new phase for IDFC and I am looking forward to it eagerly.
When I am not working: Being father of 4 year old daughter “Tanvi”, most of the free time is spent with her playing, storytelling or going out with her. Then I moved to planning, MIS budgeting and investor relations team. I grew with the firm over all these years. I have been part of some critical assignments right from IPO, FPO to banking application.
My Life @ IDFC: IDFC has been one of the greatest places to work with. Such a long stay says it all. It’s been very enjoyable and satisfying experience. I have seen IDFC coming out as a stronger organization every time it goes through a difficult phase. The firm is flexible and is quick to respond to the environmental challenges. It is one of the very few places where senior management team is accessible and open to meet employees. It gives a lot of freedom and empowerment to its employees.

I feel proud of having been a part of the vibrant journey with all our achievements through all these years!
My Life @ IDFC: I have spent a significant part of my life and career at IDFC, and it has been an endearing journey. When I joined, we had half a floor of office space for all of us, and today we are falling short of space across multiple locations! Among other things, I have always cherished the spirit of collaborative partnership, team work and the camaraderie at IDFC, which has also played a significant role in helping us grow multi-fold.
